The Petoi Bittle STEM Kit is the same robot dog with 9 degrees of freedom, but as a construction kit: the user assembles the robot themselves. It differs from the pre-assembled version in its P1L (Lite) plastic servos instead of metal ones, so the kit is lighter (0.26 kg) and cheaper, and the assembly process itself becomes part of the learning.

The control board is the same NyBoard V1 on the ATmega328P, compatible with Arduino. An MPU6050 sensor keeps balance, and an IR receiver takes commands. It can be programmed with Petoi Coding Blocks, in the Arduino IDE, or through the OpenCat Python API.

The kit is designed for school and club robotics classes: assemble, calibrate the servos, program gaits and tricks. The 7.4 V 1000 mAh Li-ion battery gives about an hour of walking, and Grove connectors plus Raspberry Pi support let you extend the robot with sensors and a camera.
