WEILAN BabyAlpha A2 is a quadruped companion robot for the home with voice AI based on GPT-4o. It holds a live conversation, shows more than 100 emotional expressions and 40 biomimetic movements, so it feels more like a pet than a gadget. A distinctive feature is Super Chat, which turns messages into mini performances with expressions and actions.
The robot maps the apartment on its own and remembers where the charging dock is. Its LiDAR set (three ToF sensors plus one 360° unit) provides SLAM navigation and obstacle avoidance, so BabyAlpha autonomously patrols the home and keeps an eye on safety. Through the built-in HD camera you can watch a live stream and call family members.
Power comes from BYD-made 21700 automotive cells, with 60 to 120 minutes of runtime depending on the version. When the charge runs low, the robot returns to the dock by itself. The lineup comes in Standard, Plus, Pro, and Ultra versions: the higher the version, the longer the battery life and the fuller the sensor set.
